About:
Allison Strauss lives and works in her hometown of Los Angeles. She earned a BA in Art from Colorado College in 2012 with thesis work in book art. She attended the MFA Visual Studies program at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon in 2017 on a merit scholarship. She interned at Peter Fetterman Gallery at Bergamot Station art complex in Santa Monica, California, a gallery that holds one of the largest collections of twentieth century fine art photography in the U.S. She also assisted at the former Offramp Gallery in Pasadena, California. In 2021, she was awarded a monthlong residency at Secret Land in Altadena, California. Her work has appeared in Citric Acid arts journal of Orange County, Exposition Review, L.A. Photo Curator, Los Angeles Review of Books, and The Museum of Americana. She has written art reviews for The Portland Mercury and Artillery art magazine. She is currently writing a book about influential women in the history of Los Angeles.
