Spring 2026

I’ve had this series in mind for a year. Last spring, I made a poor house-move decision. Among other issues, I couldn’t find an art studio nearby as I’d planned, and didn’t have room to work from home. The good thing about the new place, though, was it was walking distance to a farmers market—that took place not once but twice a week! As the market became part of my routine, I acquired lots of these pulp berry baskets. Their potential as looms dawned on me, perhaps because they’re the same size as those inadequate potholders many of us made as kids on toy looms. I began saving up baskets for the day I’d move and have a studio again. A year later, here we are! Stay tuned as the berry basket series continues.
